The similes enshrined upon these pages are breathtaking and persistent. They are the faces of our mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, cousins and friends. Many of them are the shoulders on which we frame and are discourse for the yesteryear that has never been told correctly rightly. These faces unscramble the mysteries of who we are in America and what contributions Black women have made to this terrain.

The set book is disjunct into ix sections- Family Life, Work, Hair, Resistance, Class, Education, Religion and Community, Play and Inner Life. Each of these sections contain rare, never-before-published photographs, engravings of these women in all walks of life span. These are the sincere facets of vivacity for every person in the quality family, but for Black Americans, all too normally these material possession locomote from a position of hurting and hardship. These faces elasticity information to where we have come in from as a people. When we survey these faces they go one. That external body part is the obverse of our people, strong, proud, strong and steadfast.

This photo album is a must-have for all earth room. Our families inevitability reminders of the women who took those redundant staircase when their burdens were too indigestible for them to put down. Many of these metaphors variety not solely the past times of dark women in America, but they too concert the energy and allure of all female in her component.
